ELKHART, Ind. — Metro Transit Sales (MTS) is pleased to announce that transit industry veteran Chris Shigley has joined the company as Vice President of Sales & Business Development.

Based in Omaha, Nebraska, Shigley brings more than two decades of sales, business development, and leadership experience to Metro Transit Sales, with extensive experience in the bus and transportation industries. His career has included sales leadership positions with Radio Engineering Industries (REI), Spheros, Velvac, and Micro Bird, where he developed sales strategies, expanded market presence, and built long-term relationships with transit agencies, fleet operators, manufacturers, and other transportation industry partners.

Throughout his career, Shigley has developed a strong understanding of the complex procurement, operational, and product-performance requirements facing public transportation fleets—experience he will bring to his new role at Metro Transit Sales.

As Vice President of Sales & Business Development, Shigley will lead commercial growth, fleet relations, and strategic partnerships across the North American public transit and motorcoach markets. His responsibilities will include expanding market opportunities for the full Metro Transit Sales portfolio, including products and technologies from Troman Industries, BE-GE Seating, Stoneridge, TransitGuard, and Gerflor.

Shigley earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Nebraska Omaha, with an emphasis in finance.

“I’ve spent much of my career working directly with the people responsible for keeping transit fleets safe, reliable, and operating efficiently,” Shigley said. “Metro Transit Sales represents a strong portfolio of products that address those real-world challenges, and I’m looking forward to working with agencies and industry partners to expand those solutions across the market.”
